Orthopaedic Surgery Specializing in the Knee and Shoulder
Dr. Krinick has been Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the New York University Downtown Hospital since 1987. He is a member of the board of trustees as well as a member of the Medical Board since 1988. He is Director of Residency Education in Orthopaedic Surgery, responsible for supervising resident activities in the Emergency Room Out-Patient Department and Clinical Services. In 2006, he received the International Physicians of the Year award, presented by Shaare Tzedek Hospital on Jerusalem.
Dr. Krinick is founder and chairman of Seaport Orthopaedic Associates. Seaport Orthopaedic Associates has been designated as a center of excellence in various areas of Orthopaedic surgery by several insurance companies and has been recognized by the American College of Physicians Executives in conjunction with Merck, Sharp and Dohem and the Traveler's Insurance Company for innovations in the delivery of medical care with emphasis on physician accountability.
Dr. Krinick graduated Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from The State University of New York at Albany. His Doctor of Medicine was obtained at New York University. Postgraduate training was obtained at Montefiore-Albert Einstein Medical Center in a combined internal, medicine/surgical internship. A four-year residency in Orthopaedic surgery was completed at New York University, followed by fellowship training in sports medicine-knee and shoulder surgery at New York University. He also received training at the famous Kerlan-Joe Orthopaedic Center specializing in care of the professional athlete. He has been part of the medical team caring for the New York Yankees and New York Islanders.
Dr. Krinick is currently Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at New York Downtown Hospital and an attending surgeon at Hospital for Joint Diseases and New York University Medical Center. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Fellow, American College of Surgeons, Fellow, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, member of the New York State Orthopaedic Society, member of the American College of Physician Executives, member of the American Academy of Occupational Medicine, and has been on the faculty of New York University School of Medicine since 1984.
Dr. Krinick has recently been awarded "Physician of the Year 2003" by the National Republican Congressional Committee's Physician Advisory Board. In addition, he has been listed as one of the "Best Doctors" in New York Magazine, and included in Castle Connolly’s Guide to Top Doctors in the New York metro area.
