Interventional/Medical Pain Management
Dr. Brandon Son Nguyen is an advanced pain treatment specialist with formal education in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He is board-certified in these specialties by the well-recognized American Society of Anesthesiologists and American Board of Medical Specialties.
Dr. Nguyen's education and work has taken him to many states and continents. After receiving Bachelor degrees in Biology and French at Wabash College and Lancaster University, Dr. Nguyen completed medical education at Midwestern University. Dr. Nguyen continued medical training as a resident and fellow at Harvard and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he received his degrees in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.
Since graduating from Harvard, Dr. Nguyen has been on the senior staff of Lahey Clinic, Kaiser Permanente, and a pain clinic medical director in Northern California. Dr. Nguyen has published in major textbooks and lectured at local and international conferences. His professional interests have included neuromodulation, cancer pain, and painful nerve conditions.
In his practice, Dr. Nguyen enjoys tackling challenging problems in pain medicine using a biopsychosocial approach. He emphasizes personalized patient care, collegial collaboration with other physicians, and patient and family participation in the treatment plan. Dr. Nguyen is able to offer a broad range of diagnostic tools and treatments ranging from simple injections to the most advanced minimally invasive treatments. When surgeries have not given particular results or when surgeries are not the solution to a pain problem, Dr. Nguyen may target the pain source with less risky treatments and significantly reduce the pain.
